Many people knowingly buy fake brands because they are substantially cheaper than the genuine article would be. They may try to justify their behaviour, on the grounds that the manufacturers and retail outlets are already rich enough from ripping off the public with their exorbitant prices and paying rock-bottom wages to their employees. As true as these claims may be, it doesn’t excuse the shopper for encouraging piracy.
